Nneameka Okorie , better known as  Patoranking , is one of Nigeria’s most celebrated reggae-dancehall artistes and by extension, Africa. But like many other success stories, the road to stardom wasn’t exactly smooth sailing. Patoranking was recently in Ghana where he had an interview with Starr 103.5 FM. During the radio chat, he revealed that his music career actually started off in Ghana but it was pure struggle. In his words… “I started music from my mum’s belly, but dancehall has always been something that I grew up listening to and it was perfected in Ghana.” His first trip to Ghana, according to him, was in 2007 after he gained admission into Cape Coast University. South Africa seizes Nigeria's $5.7m in another secret arms deal bust

Three weeks after South African government seized $9.3million allegedly belonging to the Nigerian government, they have once again confiscated $5.7million arms money from Nigeria. According to South African newspaper City Press , the money was seized by South Africa’s Asset Forfeiture Unit of the National Prosecuting Authority for allegedly being the proceeds of illegal transactions and even shared some documents. From City Press The Asset Forfeiture Unit of the National Prosecuting Authority (NPA) has seized $5.7 million (R64 million) for yet another arms deal between South Africa and Nigeria. This is the second multimillion-rand arms deal between the two countries in the past month that has resulted in the money being frozen in South African banks. 28 year old Australian Dana Vulin was set on fire by a jealous wife, Natalie Dimitrovska on February 16, 2012. Natalie, who has since been sentenced to 17 years in prison, doused Dana in methylated spirits in a horrific premeditated attack at her home after being jealous that the gorgeous mother of one had spoken to her husband at a party. Dana suffered third degree burns to two thirds of her body and has worn a mask for the past two and a half years. But yesterday October 5th, Dana unveiled her face after reconstructive surgery to reveal her miraculous transformation. Group Decries Reduction Of HIV Funding In Nigeria

The National Coordinator of Network of People with HIV/Aids in Nigeria (NEPWHAN), Mr Edward Ogenyi, has decried the increasing number of aids-related deaths due to lack of access to anti-retroviral drugs for people living with HIV/Aids. Addressing a news conference in Abuja, Mr Ogenyi said out of N140 billion budgeted for the implementation of the President’s Comprehensive Response Plan (PCRP), only N8 billion has been appropriated. He adds that uncertainty and anxiety prevails among people living with HIV/Aids over the drastic reduction of external funding for HIV/Aids treatment in Nigeria. The Assistant National Secretary of the Network, Hadiza Jibrin, who also spoke at the event appealed to the Federal Government to urgently intervene in the provision of HIV/Aids test kits in order to save the lives of many Nigerians.

One of the Oshadipe Twins, Taiwo, died in the early hours of Friday October 3rd. Her manager, Olu Akinsanya, speaking for the first time about her sudden death, said she might have died of complications arising from chest-related pains. Speaking exclusively to The Nation , Olu said she was ill about a month ago and was admitted at the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital, Ikeja, and was given some medications. “The illness wasn’t serious. She felt better when she started taking the drugs. But surprisingly, she suffered a relapse this week. On Wednesday, she called her doctor who treated her at LASUTH and was told to come over to his private hospital, as he wouldn’t be around at LASUTH until Friday. She went to the hospital where the doctor carried out some medical checks on her and gave her some drugs. He also gave her an appointment for Friday. But unfortunately, in the early hours of the day, she started complaining of pains. This time
