Brazil star Neymar snubbed world record £116m bid from Real Madrid

Brazil star Neymar snubbed world
record £116m bid from Real Madrid
to join Barcelona instead, claims his
father

Barcelona forward Neymar turned down a £116m bid from
Real Madrid last summer, according to his father Neymar
Sr.
Portuguese newspaper O Jogo reports that the tricky
Brazilian was the subject of a much bigger bid from Real
when he was still at Santos in 2013.
The 22-year-old joined the Blaugrana for a reported £50m
but Neymar Sr is currently in court to defend the club’s tax
dealings in relation to the transfer.
The Spanish authorities have accused the Catalan club of
tax fraud in relation to the transfer.
Real did smash the world transfer record that summer, but
it was an £86m offer for Gareth Bale that did so, overtaking
their previous biggest of £80m for Cristiano Ronaldo.
Neymar has got 22 goals in his first 48 matches for Barca,
including seven in seven this season.
